Anastacia has advised The X Factor winner Alexandra Burke not to let fame take over her life.

The I'm Outta Love singer - who recently made a comeback with new album Heavy Rotation after some time out of the spotlight - said her career has been even harder than battling cancer, reports the Daily Star.

Anastacia, who beat breast cancer in 2003, said: "The C word is the hardest thing I've ever done and I'm not talking about cancer, I'm talking about my career. It can be so hard being famous."

The 40-year-old singer - who married her bodyguard Wayne Newton in Mexico last year - added that she's "never loved" fame.

She went on: "It's tough, so I just say, 'Don't let fame take over your life'."
