The Wombats are to play three NME Awards tour gigs in February.

The Liverpool indie rockers will play live at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on February 23 and the Manchester Academy Awards on February 24 as part of the NME Awards tour, before the ceremony itself on February 25.

They will also play at Glasgow Barrowland on February 26 in another NME Awards Show.

The Wombats have also announced the release of their brand new single My Circuitboard City on February 23.

The single, which sees the band's sound develop and progress in a more post-punk, scuzzier direction, was produced by Tore Johanson - who has worked with The Cardigans and Franz Ferdinand - at London Metropolis Studio.

The song demonstrates a darker side to the band and is the first new material to be released since their highly acclaimed debut album A Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation.

Tickets to the NME Awards shows are on sale now at www.gigsandtours.com and from the 24 hr hotline 0871 2200 260.
