Katherine Jenkins has been acting as a wardrobe consultant to classical star Faryl Smith and vetoing any clothes she thinks are unsuitable for a 13-year-old.

Katherine has been giving Faryl a helping hand as she launches her career after finding fame on reality show Britain's Got Talent.

Faryl said: "She's mentoring me and she's given me loads of advice. She came to my video shoot and she came to my photo shoots and gave us loads of ideas. She also came when we were picking some of the clothes for the photo shoots."

Keen not to repeat the mistakes of other young stars, Faryl is aware that dressing older than her age is a bad idea and Katherine has been helping her pick out suitable clothes.

"She was saying what would look good and what wouldn't because with clothes I can't look too old because I am only 13. She knows what she's talking about," she said.

Faryl also said she hoped to be a role model to other young people and is giving singing lessons on her website as well as launching an online talent competition to find another rising star.
